Peace, tranquility and adventure are yours! One of the best in Alaska, this ocean front lodge offers a first class wilderness experience near Homer in Alaska’s Southcentral region. Tutka Bay Wilderness Lodge lies adjacent to Kachemak Bay State Park on a rugged fjord reaching seven miles into the glacier studded Kenai Mountains. The lodge’s remote location is the perfect setting for daily explorations. This full-service ocean front lodge offers private guest rooms, award winning cuisine, personal guide services for daily fishing, kayaking or hiking adventures, yoga and cooking classes, plus a complimentary massage. Choice of fly-out bear viewing or a fishing charter is included, but must be arranged in advance. Helicopter tours are also available at additional cost.
Homer or Anchorage to Tutka Bay Lodge
The lodge is accessible by water taxi from Homer or by float plane from Anchorage. The water taxi ride from Homer to the lodge is about 25 minutes. The direct flight Anchorage to the lodge takes about 1.5 hours.
In the morning depart Anchorage via floatplane or Homer via water taxi to Tutka Bay Lodge. Upon arrival at the lodge you will be welcomed by the staff and the rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the area and settle in. Overnight at Tutka Bay Lodge.
Tutka Bay Wilderness Lodge
After a hearty breakfast, spend the day enjoying one of the activities offered. During your stay ONE choice of either deep sea fishing or bear viewing* is included (please advise preference at time of booking).
Other daily guided activities included in price are: sea kayaking, local sport fishing, beach-combing and tidal-pool exploration, coastal touring by boat, nature trail hiking through old growth forests, and hiking in the Kachemak Bay State Park Trail System. Following dinner, relax in the hot tub and sauna or visit the solarium to share your adventure from the day. Overnight at Tutka Bay lodge.
* Bear viewing: this tour is about 5-6 hours long and departs from Homer. Guests will spend about 3 hours walking along beaches and in wet/muddy meadows. Guests will be outside exposed to the weather (without any shelter or bathrooms).
Tutka Bay Lodge to Homer or Anchorage
After breakfast, depart the lodge in the morning to return to either Homer or Anchorage.
The rates are based on 24-hour periods. Please note that arrival and departures are in the morning only. Please plan a night in Homer (if booked from Homer) or in Anchorage (if booked from Anchorage) before and after this lodge stay.
