Tour Overview

Orca Adventure Lodge is located in beautiful Cordova, Alaska, in the Chugach National Forest bordering Prince William Sound. This historic Alaska wilderness lodge was built in the 1880s and was originally used as a cannery. The lodge has recently been rebuilt into one of Alaska’s finest destinations for adventure vacations. While retaining its historical lineage, Orca Lodge has the full range of lodge amenities to offer the most discerning guest. Each of the 40 rooms has excellent views of Prince William Sound. Serving delicious cuisine, the chef and crew cook up delectable delights in the cannery cookhouse next door. At Orca Adventure Lodge, you can use all outdoor lodge equipment, such as kayaks, or choose from several optional guided activities, such as fishing or fly-out adventures into the wilds of Alaska. The lodge is perfect for families and small groups looking for a classic “real Alaskan” adventure tour.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Anchorage to Cordova

Today depart Anchorage aboard a scheduled flight to Cordova (flight departure from Anchorage typically is in the afternoon). After an approx. 1 hour flight arrive in Cordova. Upon arrival, you will be met by a guide and a transfer to the Orca Adventure Lodge will be provided. After a brief orientation, the rest of the day is free to enjoy unguided activities including kayaking, canoeing, or mountain biking. A variety of hiking trails are accessible from the lodge and provide the opportunity to watch for bald eagles and sea otters. Overnight at Orca Adventure Lodge.

Day 2
Copper River Delta

While in Cordova, you have free use of the fishing equipment, mountain bikes, and kayaks at the lodge. If you prefer a guided kayaking tour, wildlife viewing tour by boat, or ocean fishing,  these are available to book through your lodge. Overnight at Orca Adventure Lodge.

Day 3
Cordova to Anchorage

Today you will fly back to Anchorage. The flight typically is in the early afternoon. Depending on the flight departure time, you will have more time to spend at Orca Adventure Lodge. A transfer to the Cordova airport is provided.

Pre/Post nights: This program requires pre and post nights in Anchorage. Flights depend on availability at time of booking and may be different as listed in the itinerary.

Children 6-15 years are USD 865 per child, if sharing room with at least 2 full paying adults with existing bedding. Maximum 4 people per room.

Our Standard Program Includes:

2 and 3 star hotel accommodations.

The program will include a combination of hotels or motels that are considered moderate to standard tourist class. Please be aware not all hotels have shuttle services.

Standard train car seating on all rail services (reserved seats).

If you would like to book the standard program but with upgraded rail seating, the option and surcharge will be listed when you save to your cart.

Our Upgraded Program Includes:

* 3 and 4 star hotels (best available) wherever possible.

The program will include standard rooms at this category of hotel where possible. Alaska has very limited hotel choices in remote areas and small towns. The properties will typically offer a wider range of services such as a full-service restaurant, room service and perhaps a pool or spa facilities. Please be aware the upgraded accommodations in downtown Anchorage do not have hotel shuttle services. Many of the upgraded hotels also offer guaranteed view rooms for additional cost. If you would like a specific room type, in addition to the upgraded program, please ask us about availability and cost difference.

Deluxe dome train car seating between Anchorage, Denali and Fairbanks, or Anchorage and Seward.

All journeys between Anchorage and Whittier are in standard seating as deluxe dome cars are not available on that route.

Minimum age for this program: 6 years.
