Tour Overview

Just south of Anchorage, the Alyeska Glacier is nestled in a glacier bowl in the Chugach Mountains. Overlooking breathtaking views of the Turnagain Arm and towering alpine peaks, you will be amazed while peering into crevasses during this exciting hike. Ride the Alyeska Tram up the mountain and then hike for about two hours total (1-mile round trip with an 800 foot elevation gain). At the glacier’s edge, you will gear up with climbing harnesses, ropes and/or crampons, and over-boots to travel out onto the glacier itself.
