Redoubt Bay Lodge is an Alaska adventure lodge with prime bear viewing located 50 miles southwest of Anchorage at the Lake Clark Pass entrance on Cook Inlet’s shores. This classic nature lodge offers abundant bear-viewing opportunities in a spectacular setting overlooking Big River Lakes. Bear-watching tours at Redoubt Bay Lodge are fully guided. Your lodge guide will take you in specially designed pontoon boats to the best locations for viewing bears feeding on salmon and exploring the lake system to look for other resident wildlife that calls this area of Alaska home. Overnight guests at Redoubt Bay Lodge can also enjoy sport fishing for salmon, kayaking around the lakes, and boating. With just three small guest cabins and a cozy, hand-hewn log-constructed main lodge, Redoubt Bay Lodge provides an intimate and relaxing experience in the Alaskan wilderness. Tour Itinerary

Located in Big River Lakes and boundaries of the Redoubt Bay Critical Habitat Area, Redoubt Bay Lodge is only a 1-hour float plane flight across the Cook Inlet from Anchorage. One of the closest and most accessible locations for bear viewing, it fits well with itineraries beginning or ending in Anchorage.

Day 1
Anchorage to Redoubt Bay Lodge

Transfer on your own from your Anchorage hotel to the Lake Hood seaplane base. Depart Anchorage and enjoy a scenic 1-hour flight to the foothills of the Aleutian Range. Upon arrival at the lodge you will be met by your experienced nature guide who will provide an orientation about the surrounding wilderness. The rest of the day is open for activities including guided bear viewing by pontoon boat. In the evening enjoy appetizers and a delicious dinner. After dinner your guide might take you out for another bear viewing tour or relax at the lodge and enjoy the quiet nature surroundings. Overnight at Redoubt Bay Lodge.

Day 2
Redoubt Bay Lodge

This morning start with a great breakfast and then enjoy more activities until you fly back to Anchorage.

Please note that the stay at Redoubt Bay Lodge is based on 24-hour periods. The flight departure time from Anchorage to Redoubt Bay Lodge varies. You could depart Anchorage on day 1 in the morning, midday or late afternoon. On your departure day, you depart Redoubt Bay Lodge at around the same time as you arrived. It is important that you plan an overnight in Anchorage before and after the lodge stay.

A stay is based on a 24-hr period. Please plan an overnight in Anchorage before and after the lodge stay.

To complete this reservation we will need for each person: Full name including middle name(s), and body weight.

*Child rates for children 5 to 11 years are available on request.  This program is best suited for families with children 5 years and older. Rates for single travelers on request.

Special Payment Policy:
Deposit of 50% is due at time of booking.
Final payment is due 120 days prior.

Special Cancellation Policy:
Up to 121 days prior to lodge stay : 10% cancellation fee
120 to 0 days prior to lodge stay: 100% cancellation fee; services are non-refundable, even if cancelled due to weather/services not used.
Additional fee of up to $450 per person / per night applies if you cannot depart the lodge as scheduled due to weather and have to stay an extra night.
