The Ketchikan tour and canoeing adventure begins with a scenic motorcoach tour to a secluded mountain lake, where you will board Indian-style 37-foot, 20-passenger canoes which are stable and easy to maneuver. Paddle with an experienced guide, scan the shore for wildlife, and learn the unique natural and cultural history of the Ketchikan area. The lake, part of a lush Alaska rainforest, is ideal for canoeing and is surrounded by the Tongass National Forest. Step ashore for an Alaska-style snack. Your guide will lead a short nature walk highlighting the flora and fauna of the rain forest, including such features as carnivorous plants and the official state tree. After your walk paddle back across the lake and re-board your motorcoach for your return trip.
