Railroad cars are similar to those of the 1898 period with outside viewing platforms and large windows. At Fraser, the train connects with direct bus service to Whitehorse, Yukon. White Pass Summit Excursion
Operates May 5 - September 24, 2010
40 mile round trip tour from Skagway

Come discover your personal gold rush with the White Pass & Yukon Railway as it steams through it second century of history! This 3 - 3.5 hour, forty mile roundtrip train ride climbs from tidewater at Skagway to the summit of the White Pass -a 2,865 foot rise in elevation! Built in 1898 during the Klondike Gold Rush, this narrow gauge railroad is an International Historic Civil Engineering landmark. Experience the breathtaking panorama of mountains, glaciers, gorges, waterfalls, tunnels, trestles and historic sites from the comfort of vintage parlor cars.
Note:  most departures are typically reserved for cruise passengers and have extremely limited availability for purchase off of the ship.

 Tour 408 - Departures from Skagway 8:15 am & 12:45 pm. Also at 4:30 Tues-Wed.

Not available on Sundays.

Fraser Meadows Steam Excursion 
Operates: May 29 - Sept 13, 2010

Available only on Fridays and Mondays!

Travel on one of the steam locomotives to Fraser Meadows, located 6 miles beyond the White Pass Summit. No other railroad is quite like the White Pass & Yukon Route. Against all odds, the iron trail was carved through some of the North’s most rugged terrain in 1898. This engineering wonder climbs nearly 3,000 feet in 26 miles of steep grades and cliff-hanging turns.

 Tour 407 - Fridays and Mondays ONLY - Depart at 12:00noon

Prices per person: Adult: $145; Child (3-12years): $73

Important: a valid passport/visa as proof of citizenship is RECOMMENDED for all passengers, but is not required to participate in this tour!  

 



Chilkoot Trail Hikers Service
(Operates May 12 - September 16, 2010)
Available only on Fridays, Sundays and Mondays!

Departs Bennett B.C. at 2:00 pm (Alaska Time)

Back to Skagway or Whitehorse from the Chilkoot Trail. If you're an intrepid hiker who wants to tackle the daunting 33 mile Chilkoot Trail on foot, come back from Bennett on the train as you celebrate your accomplishment.
