Tour Itinerary

Day
1

Juneau Arrival

Upon arrival you will be transferred from the airport or hospitality area to board the vessel. (Please arrange own arrival no later than 2:30pm today). Come aboard, meet your crew, and unpack your adventurous spirit. Your course is set for glaciers and the Tongass - the largest national forest in the country. Meals and beverages are included throughout your cruise (with the exception of ‘super premium' liquor).

Day
2

Tracy Arm / Stephens Passage

This morning, wake in a fjord flanked by sheer granite walls, cascading waterfalls and drifting icebergs. Take it all in with a hot cup of coffee from the bow of the ship. Hop in a skiff for a better look at the glacier and feel the temperature drop as you approach the mass of ice. Look for signs of humpback whales as you make your way into Stephens Passage - it's an action-packed first day!

Day
3

Thomas Bay / Baird Glacier

Have your rubber boots handy today! Hiking along Baird's moraine, look for shimmers of gold and quartz that the area is known for. The glacial valley is a nesting hot-spot for arctic terns. Continue your adventure with a paddle along the bay's mossy cliff walls. Back on board, make time for a cocktail and a soak in the hot tub while you reflect on the day's excitement.

Day
4

LeConte Glacier / Ideal Cove

LeConte is the southernmost tidewater glacier in North America. At low tide, you can take a walk on the mud flats to check out the icebergs. At high tide, a skiff ride takes you up close to the area's iceberg gardens. Surrounded by national forest, Ideal Cove's boardwalk trails wind through meadows of ferns and grasses. Or, test your balance paddle boarding in this quiet cove with your expedition team.

Day
5

Kake / Frederick Sound

"Kake" comes from a Tlingit word meaning "opening of daylight". Start your day in this native village with traditional storytelling and dancing. Learn the legends behind their 132-foot totem pole. Kayaking along the hidden coves of Keku Island provides a chance to view black bears along the shores. For hikers, your guides have a route in mind as you make for the forest, far off the beaten path. Cruising Frederick Sound, chances are high you'll see humpbacks - the nutrient rich water is an irresistible feeding ground for whales.

Day
6

Baranof Island / Peril Strait

Enjoy another day of adventure as your captain steers through Chatham and Peril Straits! At Baranof Island, your expedition team has a game plan. Tap into the untouched wilderness of the Tongass, head to the woods for an adventurous bushwhack or slide into a kayak for an easygoing shoreline paddle. Be sure to find a perch on the deck in Peril Strait - it's a twisting drama of currents and history.

Day
7

Sergius Narrows / Neva Strait

There aren't many straight lines along Baranof Island. Its western side is dotted with hundreds of coves and uninhabited islands. This is a prime area for spotting sea otters! The protected beaches are perfect for exploring the intertidal zones and spotting bears, so boot up for a guided hike. End your day with a celebratory Farewell Dinner and toast to an incredible week as your expedition team treats you to a photo recap.

Day
8

Sitka Departure

After breakfast, disembark in Sitka at about 9:00am. A transfer is provided to the airport or the Un-Cruise hospitality area. (Please arrange a departure no earlier than 11:30am today.)
