Tour Overview

Explore Alaska’s Arctic! Your first stop on this partly-guided tour to Alaska’s North is a visit to Barrow, the northernmost city in North America with a rich Eskimo culture. Then fly to Prudhoe Bay to meet your guide and join your tour. Continue the following morning south by road through the spectacular Brooks Mountain Range and across the Arctic Circle on the Dalton Highway, Alaska’s famous “ice road”.

Tour Itinerary

Due to the tour's varying departure and arrival times, an overnight in Fairbanks before and after this tour are necessary.

1

Fairbanks to Barrow to Deadhorse/Prudhoe Bay

Today, you fly north from Fairbanks to the village of Barrow. Upon arrival in Barrow, you will have a guided sightseeing tour of approximately 3 hours before your afternoon flight to Deadhorse. Overnight in Deadhorse (Prudhoe Bay).

2

Prudhoe Bay to Coldfoot

In the morning, depart by ground tour south on the Dalton Highway traveling through the remote Brooks Range, farthest north mountain range in North America. Spectacular peaks and vast lands make this one of the most unpopulated regions in the world. Overnight Coldfoot Camp.

Day
3

Coldfoot to Fairbanks

Today, you will visit the small gold mining community of Wiseman before you cross the Arctic Circle as well the Yukon River. Your tour comes to an end upon arrival in Fairbanks this evening between 8:00- 9:00pm.

Note: Overnight accommodations for this program consist of very basic, clean rooms that are extremely rustic by urban standards. Rooms do NOT have private bathrooms. Toilets and shower stall facilities are located down the hall. Rooms have 2 twin size beds.
