Depart Anchorage on a half-day bear viewing trip to Redoubt Bay Lodge. Redoubt Bay is one of the most straightforward and accessible locations for bear viewing from Anchorage. You will travel by seaplane for a one-hour flight along a scenic route across Cook Inlet to the foothills of the Aleutian Range and the Lake Clark Wilderness Preserve. Upon arrival at Redoubt Bay Lodge, you will be met by an experienced nature guide who will provide your group with an orientation of the surrounding wilderness and then take you on a half-day guided bear viewing tour by pontoon boat to Wolverine Creek Cove. You can safely watch and photograph Alaska’s magnificent bears from the water in their natural habitat. You will spend around 3 hours on the water while at Redoubt Bay.

Good to know: Bears (black and brown bears) are attracted to the nearby Wolverine Creek Cove for the salmon run. While bear sightings are not guaranteed, July typically offers the best opportunities, although bears can be spotted from the middle of June through mid-August. Your guide will ensure that you receive the best possible experience. Please note that this area can also be popular with sport fishermen. If you prefer a more private wilderness experience, stay overnight at Redoubt Bay Lodge.
