Experience a great Alaska bear viewing opportunity from Soldotna. Alaska Homestead Lodge is located at the foot of Mount Iliamna in Lake Clark National Park and offers a bear watching experience of a lifetime. Guests experience bear viewing opportunities and get a small insight of homesteading and living in this remote area, without road access. In the morning depart Soldotna to Alaska Homestead Lodge in a bush plane. After an approximately 30 minute flight, your bush plane lands on a remote beach at a rustic lodge overlooking Cook Inlet. Upon landing transfer to the lodge and after you receive an introduction, spend time at the homestead with guided bear viewing via a 4-wheeler or walking. In the afternoon/early evening take a return flight to Soldotna.
Good to know: All bear viewing trips are guided. The most reliable times for bear viewing are from mid-June through end of July; however, bears roam the green meadows all summer feeding on sage grass. Sightings are not guaranteed!
Transfers to or from Soldotna, and gratuities.
Please note there is a 2-passenger minimum required to operate this tour.
