This Anchorage day tour puts you in the Alaska dog sledding driving seat. After a scenic drive north to dog mushing country, you will arrive at Iditarod champion Dallas Seavey’s sled dog kennel and get an introduction into mushing your own team. Help harness the dogs before setting out on a 5-mile self drive mini expedition! Two guests will share one dog sled and a small dog team of 4-7 Alaskan huskies. After 2.5 miles, stop for a photo opportunity with your dog team and alternate from standing to riding on the passenger bench. The next 2.5 miles of mushing will duplicate the Iditarod trail where you will visit replicas of official Iditarod checkpoints and other highlights of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. Upon return to the kennel, reward the dogs with some treats and enjoy a lunch and hot beverages yourself.
Please Note: There will be no departures on Dec 24, 25, 2020; Jan 1 and March 3, 5, 6 & 7, 2021.
