Katmai Wilderness Lodge

Live Among the Bears!
Tour 113

Bears graze near the Katmai Wilderness Lodge.Katmai Wilderness Lodge offers one of the most unique bear viewing experiences during an Alaska vacation ever!

Imagine being able to safely stay in close proximity to grizzly bears and spending entire days viewing the magnificent animals. The Katmai Coast offers Alaska's richest habitat for bears and attracts naturalists and animal lovers each summer.

5 days / 4 nights Tour 113

Day 1:  In the afternoon, transfer on your own to the Anchorage International Airport. Depart on scheduled flight to Kodiak. The rest of the evening is at your leisure. Overnight in Kodiak near the airport.

Day 2:  This morning is at your leisure. In the late morning you will be transferred to the float plane docks. Depart Kodiak at 12:30H via float plane to Katmai Wilderness, arriving at approximately 13:30H. The next days are spent viewing and photographing the largest grizzlies in the world! Overnight Katmai Wilderness Lodge.A large Alaskan Grizzly Bear.

Days 3+:  Full day guided activities from the lodge available each day. Choices include guided bear viewing, photography, bird watching, guided hiking, guided sea kayaking, beach combing, or a visit to view the archaeological sites. A licensed captain will guide you to the best spots in Kukak and the surrounding bays, depending on the time of day and tides. The touring vessel Wilderness was specially designed for getting close to the remote beaches. A custom front ramp makes it easy to get on and off whether you're headed for a hike or back to the lodge. Due to strong tidal fluctuations in the areas, the low tide exposes mudflats that provide a unique opportunity for clam digging and beach combing. Fishing for halibut and rock bass is also possible. After dinner relax in main lodge. Overnight Katmai Wilderness Lodge.

Departure Day:  Around mid-day, a floatplane will bring you back to Kodiak to meet a scheduled flight to Anchorage.

Roundtrip flights from Anchorage to Kodiak and floatplane flight from Kodiak to Katmai Wilderness Lodge.  One night accommodation in Kodiak near airport.  Accommodation in guest cabins at Katmai Wilderness Lodge. All meals while at the lodge and daily guided activities (see above).  (Note: the lodge is located on the coast of Katmai National Park, not on Kodiak Island.)

Refund / Cancellation Policy:

The AlaskaTours.com standard cancellation policy applies up to 31 days prior to lodge stay date.

30 to 0 days prior to lodge stay date: Due to limited availability and a short operating season, stays at Katmai Wilderness Lodge are non-refundable if cancelled within 30 days, even if weather or other reason beyond the lodge's control delays or prevents you getting to the lodge on the day scheduled.
