Bear Viewing Adventure - Katmai
Tour typically
takes place from July 1 - 31.
This morning, transfer to the Lake Hood seaplane
base for a scenic flight to prime bear viewing
habitat. Fly over glaciers, volcanoes and the
vast coastal region where the giant bears roam.
With several hours of flight time allocated to
the safari, you will be inspired by Alaska's
vast and rugged wilderness. Flying over lower
Cook Inlet, the tour route will take you along
the shores of Katmai National Park & Preserve to
Brooks Falls. About 6 hours will be spent
exploring the park and watching bears. This bear
watching flight safari offers a great adventure
for wildlife enthusiasts of all ages.
Bear Viewing Adventure - Lake Clark
Tour typically
takes place from August 1 - September 15.
A Lake Clark National Park bear viewing tour
provides an Alaska experience of a lifetime.
Depart from Lake Hood Sea Plane Harbor in
Anchorage and fly southwest over Cook Inlet and
the tundra-covered hills of the western Alaska
interior. During your 1 hour and 10 minute
flight watch for the Chigmit Mountains, where
Alaska and Aleutian Ranges meet, and two active
volcanoes – Mt. Redoubt and Mt. Iliamna – before
landing in Crescent Lake, Lake Clark National
Park and Preserve. At Crescent Lake, we
will land at Redoubt Mountain Lodge. From here
knowledgeable guides escort you by boat to
lakeside areas where bears feed on spawning,
wild Alaska salmon.

Roundtrip floatplane flight from Anchorage with
pilot/guide. Picnic style
lunch. Transfers from / to Lake Hood from Anchorage
hotels. All taxes and park fees.

Viewing:
While bears are
typically seen in the area all summer long,
sightings are NOT guaranteed. Prime viewing is
typically from the end of June through July and
late August, when the salmon are running.
Tour Duration:
Approximately 10 hours, including flight
time and transfers.
This is NOT a private tour. A
maximum of 10 people may be on the plane with
you.
