Tour Overview

Depart from the Lake Hood seaplane base in Anchorage, Alaska for a scenic flight to the prime bear viewing habitat at Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park. Viewing Alaska from the air in a small plane allows for better sightseeing opportunities all the way to this classic bear viewing destination. Fly over glaciers, volcanoes and the vast coastal region where the giant bears roam.

Several hours of flying time are allocated to this safari over Alaska’s vast and rugged wilderness. The approximate flight time from Anchorage to Brooks Falls is 2-2.5 hours each way. Flying over lower Cook Inlet, the tour route will take you along the shores of Katmai National Park & Preserve to Brooks Falls. About 4-5 hours will be spent at Brooks exploring the park and watching bears (unguided). This bear watching flight safari offers a great adventure for wildlife enthusiasts!

Good to know: While bear viewing is not guaranteed, July is typically the best time for bear viewing in this area.
