Depart Anchorage by van for an Alaska glacier adventure beginning with a narrated 100-mile drive north through the scenic Matanuska Susitna Valley on your way to Matanuska Glacier. Photo stops will be made along the way to capture the stunning views of this picturesque valley and its surrounding mountain peaks. Upon arrival at the glacier, meet your naturalist glacier guide and get outfitted with glacier hiking gear before heading out. Your time walking on the glacier is 2 to 3 hours. This fully-guided Alaska glacier experience allows you to meander along the surface of the ancient blue ice, looking for glacial features such as towering ice spires, stunning crevasses, and gorgeous ice caves. A stop for lunch is included either before or after the walk on the glacier (timing depends on your group).

Physical Activity: No experience is needed, but you must be able to walk / hike for 2-3 hours over uneven terrain with about an elevation gain of approx. 140 ft (3-4 flights of stairs).

Special Terms: A 2-person minimum is required for the tour to operate. Higher price applies for single travelers. Children must be at least 8 years old to participate in this tour.
