Always wanted to visit the site of the actual “magic bus” and wilderness shelter of the “Into the Wild” story? Begin your adventure with a scenic helicopter flight over the Nenana River and Denali nature with your professional pilot/Alaska expert. Then, land just off the Stampede Trail, a mining road blazed in the 1930’s only to be abandoned in 1963 after the terrain was deemed impassable due to permafrost and seasonal floods. Left behind on this renounced trail is Fairbanks Bus 142: a makeshift shelter made famous by the book and movie “Into the Wild”. Witness how Christopher McCandless lived and be inspired by his spirit of adventure on the only Bus 142 experience offered in the Denali National Park area.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Approx. 40 minutes of flight time, plus a 30 minute landing to explore the “Magic Bus”
