Tour Overview

Today’s Alaska glacier adventure begins with a narrated 100-mile drive north through the scenic Matanuska Susitna Valley on your way to Matanuska Glacier. Photo stops will be made along the way to capture the stunning views of this scenic valley and its surrounding mountain peaks.

Upon arrival at the glacier, meet your naturalist glacier guide so that you can be outfitted with glacier hiking gear before heading out. Your time out on the glacier is from 2 to 3 hours. This fully-guided Alaska glacier experience allows you to meander along the surface of ancient blue ice and view towering ice spires and gorgeous ice caves. A stop for lunch at a favorite lodge among Alaska locals is included either before or after the walk on the glacier (varies, dependent on group).
