2022 : A “Year to Travel” Especially to Alaska

2022 is here and if you’ve been forced to hold back and postpone that long awaited vacation, time to get planning! Especially if you’re thinking of taking that Alaska bucket list trip, now’s the time because by this summer, we expect a full season of visitors to America’s 49th state.

This month, we share how much you can do up here in Alaska (even if you only have 4 days)!

We also feature one of our favorite Denali-centric Alaskan towns – Talkeetna! This charming and still very authentic Alaska destination is just 2.5 hours north of Anchorage and hosts many popular visitor activities from flightseeing to fishing, riverboat tours, hiking, Nordic skiing, dog mushing and even, for the most adventurous – mountain climbing!

If you do decide to visit Talkeetna, we’ve got a great 2-hour “Grand Denali Flightseeing Tour with Glacier Landing“. This flightseeing tour gives you the opportunity to see all sides of Mt Denali, with stunning views of the Kahiltna Glacier, the famous West Buttress and Sheldon Amphitheater.

Another fun trip if you have more time and love traveling by train is our 5-day “Greatland Explorer Tour” out of Fairbanks. Onboard the Alaska Railroad, you’ll travel first to Denali where you take a bus tour of Denali National Park and it’s incredible wildlife, then, you’ll continue on to Anchorage.  This classic rail journey through Alaska’s heartland takes place along one of the most scenic rail routes in the world.

"Denali captured my soul. I'm not sure how to describe the vastness, the tundra, the wildlife, the rivers, the vistas, Denali itself which peeked out of the clouds for just a few minutes. It was a bucket list trip for us and our bucket overflowed! "
