Travel first class! Focusing on visiting Denali National Park with a wilderness lodge stay, this deluxe independent tour is perfect as pre or post cruise program. It captures the natural beauty of Alaska landscapes and wildlife. First, travel in Alaska Railroad’s Gold Star service (deluxe dome railcar) to Denali. After a night at the park entrance, you will take a scenic bus tour on the way to your wilderness lodge. Great opportunities to view wildlife and to see the awesome scenery Denali has to offer. Return to Anchorage directly from Kantishna via a small bush plane. This Alaska flightseeing trip provides wonderful photo opportunities of Denali National Park while transporting you directly from the wilderness of Denali to urban downtown Anchorage*.

Day
1

Anchorage Arrival

Arrive into Anchorage and meet your driver for a private transfer to your hotel. Anchorage is Alaska’s largest city, nestled between the Chugach Mountains and Cook Inlet. Offering an abundance of shopping, cultural attractions, and gourmet restaurants, Anchorage provides an excellent start to your vacation. Overnight in Anchorage.

Anchorage to Denali (park entrance)

This morning meet your driver at your hotel for a private transfer to the train station. Travel from Anchorage to Denali National Park aboard the Alaska Railroad's Gold Star service. Upon arrival in Denali at 3:45pm transfer to your hotel by courtesy shuttle. Most visitor facilities are grouped near the park entrance. Your evening is free for optional activities or you can relax and enjoy some leisure time. Overnight at Denali park entrance. (Meals included Breakfast, Lunch)

Denali National Park / Kantishna

Relax in the morning. Then transfer to the Denali train station to meet your lodge bus for a tour into the heart of Denali National Park (shared, not private). At over 6 million acres, Denali National Park is one of the world’s greatest wild animal preserves. Here, protected from hunting, the animals roam freely in a region dominated by the continent’s tallest mountain. Along the way watch for moose, caribou, bear, sheep and other park animals. You may even catch a glimpse of North America's tallest mountain - Denali! Upon arrival in Kantishna check in to your room and enjoy dinner. Overnight Kantishna Roadhouse. (Meals included: Dinner)

Denali National Park / Kantishna

Full day in the park for guided activities such as hiking, naturalist tours and other lodge programs. Overnight Kantishna Roadhouse. (Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Denali National Park to Anchorage

Mid-morning travel in a small plane from Kantishna to Anchorage (approximately 1.5 hours)*. Upon arrival in Anchorage, you will be transferred to your Anchorage hotel. Overnight in Anchorage. (Meals included: Breakfast)

Anchorage Departure

Private transfer to airport.

*The flight from Kantishna to Anchorage is weather dependent and will only take place if the entire flight route has safe flying conditions. If weather cancels the flight, alternative transportation will be arranged (this might include a flight via Fairbanks or no flight at all/only ground transportation back to Anchorage). If the alternative transportation to Anchorage incurs any additional costs, those would be your responsibility.

*Children 6 to 11 years old sharing with 2 full paying adults. Minimum age is 6 years old.

Our Standard Program Includes:

2 and 3 star hotel accommodations.

The program will include a combination of hotels or motels that are considered moderate to standard tourist class. Please be aware not all hotels have shuttle services.

Standard train car seating on all rail services (reserved seats).

If you would like to book the standard program but with upgraded rail seating, the option and surcharge will be listed when you save to your cart.

Our Upgraded Program Includes:

* 3 and 4 star hotels (best available) wherever possible.

The program will include standard rooms at this category of hotel where possible. Alaska has very limited hotel choices in remote areas and small towns. The properties will typically offer a wider range of services such as a full-service restaurant, room service and perhaps a pool or spa facilities. Please be aware the upgraded accommodations in downtown Anchorage do not have hotel shuttle services. Many of the upgraded hotels also offer guaranteed view rooms for additional cost. If you would like a specific room type, in addition to the upgraded program, please ask us about availability and cost difference.

Deluxe dome train car seating between Anchorage, Denali and Fairbanks, or Anchorage and Seward.

All journeys between Anchorage and Whittier are in standard seating as deluxe dome cars are not available on that route.

Cancellation Policy:
Any time after our written confirmation and up to 61 days: $500 cancellation fee per person
60 to 31 days prior to lodge stay date: 50% cancellation fee
30 to 0 days prior to lodge stay date: 100% cancellation
