Tour Overview
Start your winter adventure in Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city. Nestled between the Chugach Mountains and Cook Inlet, the city offers an abundance of shopping, cultural attractions and gourmet restaurants. Take a scenic trip north to the massive Matanuska Glacier, where an experienced glacier guide will lead you on a walk over ancient blue ice, while you look for towering ice spires and stunning ice caves along the way. Next, continue your journey north to Fairbanks aboard the Alaska Railroad. Your winter adventure concludes with a stay at Borealis Basecamp, where you overnight in exclusive fiberglass domes crafted to maximize northern lights viewing and comfort. Clear, curved windows stretch 16 feet across each dome roof, allowing you to lie in bed and view the dancing northern lights and scenery outdoors without leaving your cozy nest
