News, Deals, and Learning Opportunities from Alaska

Happy New Year from Alaska Tours! As we celebrate our 30th anniversary in 2021, we know we would not be where we are without you, our capable travel advisor partners. We’ve compiled these updates to keep you informed and to provide content to share with your clients.

Alaska Training Sessions – Our free weekly Zoom seminars resume tomorrow. You will receive a certificate after attending four sessions. Upcoming topics include small ship cruising, Denali National Park, and helicopter adventures. Click to register.

Travel Restrictions – The State of Alaska continues to tweak travel rules. The key requirements remain the same: taking a PCR test within 72 hours of departure, uploading negative results online, and social distancing for 5 days after arrival. At this time, there are not exemptions for people who have been vaccinated.

Availability Concerns – High end hotels and national park lodges are filling up for summer 2021. This is the right time to be booking larger families and groups, luxury clients, and national park enthusiasts.

Reduced Deposits & Free Cancellation – Most summer tours qualify for our Alaska with Peace of Mind special offer. Clients can book with a refundable 25% deposit through March 15th. You will find all the details below.

Hotel News – Seward has a new hotel opening in May, the Gateway Hotel! Alyeska Resort will also be opening their beautiful new Nordic Spa this spring.

Winter 2021/22 Now Available – Alaska’s Northern Lights viewing igloos are sold out for this season. If your clients want this bucket-list experience at an affordable price, next season is now available, but dates are already selling out. We’ve also published another popular destination for next Aurora season (late August through early April): Chena Hot Springs Resort.

Stories to Share – The link below for Where and When to Witness the Northern Lights is a great way to get your clients excited about this mesmerizing natural phenomenon. For those more interested in visiting during our warmer months, the article about touring Alaska aboard the Alaska Railroad is another great share.

Count on us as your resource in Alaska, so please contact us with any questions or to plan your clients’ dream vacation.

"Denali captured my soul. I'm not sure how to describe the vastness, the tundra, the wildlife, the rivers, the vistas, Denali itself which peeked out of the clouds for just a few minutes. It was a bucket list trip for us and our bucket overflowed! "
