In June 2021, our company proudly celebrates 30 years in business as one of Alaska’s leaders in tourism. Since 1991, our mission has been to plan and deliver the absolute best in Alaska travel tours – from day trips and cruise excursions to multi-day vacations for visitors who want to explore America’s 49th state.
We thought you might be interested in the “inside story” about our journey over the three decades we’ve been around, so we held a fireside chat with Alaska Tours President, Al Koch. Tune in!
Our latest Alaska “adventure” turns out to be this summer’s “sold out” status now featured on everything from rental cars to train rides! But if you’re still interested in catching the Alaska wave this year, check out our Denali and Glacier Experience, a 6-day extravaganza beginning in Anchorage with a glacier cruise out of Whittier with views of massive ice flows and the surrounding Chugach National Forest. After returning to Anchorage, the next day you’ll travel by bus or van to Denali National Park for a two-night stay with a wildlife bus tour into the park’s wilderness. Cap off your Alaska trip with one last night in Anchorage.
If your summer is already spoken for, how about a fall trip to Alaska? Fall comes to Alaska in late August with berries ripening to paint landscapes in crimson and purple. Grizzly bears and caribou roam the mountainsides, fattening up for the long winter ahead and Alaska’s Midnight Sun gives way to darker evenings just perfect for Northern Lights viewing. This month, we highlight all the many reasons Alaskans love the season of Autumn up North.
Our week-long Alaska’s Autumn Highlights tour combines 2 days in Anchorage with a day cruise in Prince William Sound followed by a ride on the Alaska Railroad to Denali National Park, home to Alaska’s “big five”: moose, caribou, Dall sheep, wolves and grizzly bears. After two nights in Denali with time for sightseeing, hiking and/or optional rafting or flightseeing tours, you’ll continue north to Fairbanks where you can relax in the warm waters of Chena Hot Springs Resort followed by a guided Northern Lights expedition to hopefully catch glimpses of the aurora borealis.
Whatever the season, Alaska never disappoints. As we begin our 4th decade at Alaska Tours, we welcome you north for the vacation of a lifetime
