Physical Activity:
This tour is considered moderate to strenuous when it comes to activity level. While no experience is necessary, you must be in good physical condition and able to paddle for for up to 5-6 miles round trip (approx. 2 hours) and hike for up to 2 miles round trip. The terrain is uneven and rocky, so sturdy hiking shoes are a must. This tour is not suitable for women who are pregnant.
Required at Booking:
Body weights; shoe, jacket and pants sizes along with hotel information in Juneau. Medical issues, allergies and dietary restrictions.
Special Terms:
There is a 4-person minimum is required to operate this tour. Children must be 12 years old to participate in this tour. Circumstances such as poor weather, inadequate footwear, or a slow pace may limit the time spent by the edge of the glacier. Unfortunately seeing specific glacier features cannot be guaranteed due to the constantly changing nature of Mendenhall Glacier. Maximum body weight is 250 lbs due to canoe weight capacity. Smallest shoe size youth: size 2; largest shoe size men's: size 14.
