Tour Overview

This Anchorage day trip departs in the morning on the Alaska Railroad for a 3.5 hour ride to Spencer Glacier in the Chugach National Forests’ remote mountains. Then you will be led on a guided walk led by a U.S. Forest Service Ranger. The ranger will lead you on a narrated walk to a viewing platform about 1.5 miles from the starting point (about 3 miles roundtrip). This low-impact gravel path offers benches and incredible scenic views along the way. You will return to Anchorage by scheduled motorcoach.

** NOTE: In 2020, there will not be a U.S. Forest Service Ranger to narrate the guided walk. The walk will be unguided until further notice. **
