Tour Overview
This Valdez glacier and wildlife cruise through Prince William Sound features a visit to Columbia Glacier. On board you will have a chance to view Prince Williams Sound’s wildlife, including sea lions, sea otters, and whales. Learn about mining, oil shipping, the 1964 earthquake, and fishing history, and as well as stories about the first people to explore and live in the area. This tour includes a description of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline Terminal as you sail past. Because the Columbia Glacier is the fastest moving glacier in Alaska, it releases tons of ice daily into the ocean. Typically your ship will not be able to navigate to the face of the glacier. Instead, you will cruise along the terminal moraine around massive icebergs. The tour travels 80-miles round-trip.
Tour departs at 2:30pm only on the following dates: May 27, 31; June 16, 20; July 6, 10, 26, 30; August 15, 19
