Talkeetna Flightseeing Day Trips , Fishing Trips & Outdoor Adventures

“Talkeetna” means “River of Plenty” in the Dena’ina language. Located 2.5 hours north of Anchorage at the confluence of three major rivers (the Susitna, the Talkeetna, and the Chulitna River), the historic village of Talkeetna is nestled at the base of Denali, North America’s tallest peak. Talkeetna offered abundant resources for the Dena’ina people, who hunted and fished in this area for centuries. In the late 1890s, a trading station was located along the riverfront to supply trappers and miners. The town’s site was established during the construction of the Alaska Railroad.

Talkeetna has an outstanding panoramic view of the Alaska Range that can be enjoyed and photographed from several places as you wander through this town and discover what this unique location offers. Activities popular for visitors to Talkeetna include flightseeing, fishing, riverboat tours, hiking, Nordic skiing, mushing, and mountain climbing. Talkeetna is a classic Alaskan destination to enjoy no matter what time of the year you visit.
