Denali National Park is larger than the state of Massachusetts. It is also one of the world’s last great frontiers for wilderness adventure. Denali (formerly known as Mt. McKinley), is North America’s highest peak at 20,320 feet, and located within the park. Its impressive vertical relief of 18,000 feet is even greater than that of Mount Everest! Denali National Park is located 238 miles north of Anchorage and 120 miles south of Fairbanks. With the exception of a few lodges in the park, most of the hotels and activities are found at the park entrance, including opportunities for hiking, river rafting and helicopter flightseeing tours.
