This Bear Track Inn Alaska lodge vacation out of Gustavus treats you to the best of Glacier Bay National Park, located at the northwest end of the Alexander Archipelago in southeastern Alaska. The Bear Track Inn is a truly unique two-story log building with 14 guest rooms, each with private bath and two queen beds. Relax by night at Bear Track while enjoying the many outdoor activities available in Glacier Bay by day, famous for its tidewater glaciers, deep fjords and wildlife, including eagles, seals, sea lions and brown bears.
Important - For this program an overnight in Juneau before and after this trip is required. Flight details to/from Gustavus typically are not known until about 6 weeks prior to tour date. Please also note that all flights in Southeast Alaska are weather dependent and may be delayed or even cancelled due to bad weather.
Juneau to Gustavus
Today board a small plane for a 25-minute scenic flight to Gustavus, the gateway to Glacier Bay National Park. On arrival in Gustavus you will be met by a representative and transferred to the Bear Track Inn. The remainder of the day is free to explore the area or relax. Overnight at Bear Track Inn.
Gustavus
In the early morning transfer to Bartlett Cove where you board a high-speed catamaran to cruise into Glacier Bay National Park. Lunch is included and park rangers are aboard to provide interpretive information. Return to Bartlett Cove in the late afternoon and transfer to the Inn. Overnight at Bear Track Inn.
The whale watching cruise could also take place on day 2 and the Glacier Bay cruise could take place on day 3, depending on availability.
Gustavus to Juneau
Today you have a whale watching excursion into Icy Straits and Point Adolphus. See humpback whales in their summer feeding grounds. In the evening a transfer is provided for your scheduled departure flight from Gustavus.
NOTE: Flights to/from Gustavus typically are in small planes with luggage weight limitations of 50 pounds per person.
To complete this reservation we will need for each person: Full name including middle name(s), gender, date of birth and body weight. Please let us know your Juneau hotel information for any last minute flight communication.
The program will include a combination of hotels or motels that are considered moderate to standard tourist class. Please be aware not all hotels have shuttle services.
If you would like to book the standard program but with upgraded rail seating, the option and surcharge will be listed when you save to your cart.
The program will include standard rooms at this category of hotel where possible. Alaska has very limited hotel choices in remote areas and small towns. The properties will typically offer a wider range of services such as a full-service restaurant, room service and perhaps a pool or spa facilities. Please be aware the upgraded accommodations in downtown Anchorage do not have hotel shuttle services. Many of the upgraded hotels also offer guaranteed view rooms for additional cost. If you would like a specific room type, in addition to the upgraded program, please ask us about availability and cost difference.
All journeys between Anchorage and Whittier are in standard seating as deluxe dome cars are not available on that route.
