Caribou Lodge

One of the most unique and unforgettable experiences

is living with a family in the Alaska bush!

Tour 171CTA

Caribou LodgeCaribou Lodge is located just southeast of Denali National Park (not inside the park boundaries) and east of Talkeetna, on a remote lake above the timberline in the Talkeetna Mountains. Wildlife abounds in the area; caribou, moose, bears, wolves, eagles, and all kinds of birds have all been observed from the comfort of the lodge (wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed). The lodge also offers one of the most perfect settings to view Mt. McKinley.

The hosts, Mike and Pam, have called Caribou Lodge their home for 16 years. All supplies are flown in by bush plane and for 2 to 3 months of the year, during winter "freeze-up" and "spring break-up," they are nearly isolated from the outside world. Mike and Pam’s experiences vary from having grizzly bears out the front door, to long winter nights by the warm fire with a good book while the Aurora Borealis dance overhead, to surprise visits from traveling wolves. They invite you to come share their dream and experiences with them!
