Zachar Bay is located in the heart of Kodiak Island National Wildlife Refuge, and is the perfect place for a wilderness Alaska vacation. Wildlife viewing and fishing are both excellent. You may choose from a variety of daily outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, and sightseeing. Expert guides are on hand for all the outdoor activities. You can access remote beaches and wilderness areas by powerful boats and seaplane. Accommodation is in comfortable private rooms, and the lodge has a congenial family style dining and lounge area. Guests will find the combination of Zachar Bay's ambiance and choice of daily activities a rewarding vacation experience.

2 days / 2 nights (minimum)

Day 01: Depart Anchorage aboard a scheduled flight to Kodiak with a connecting sea plane flight to the lodge. On arrival, you will be met by the hosts who will provide a brief orientation. This afternoon, cruise the rugged coast to nearby bird rookeries and search for wildlife. Overnight Zachar Bay Lodge.

Day 02+ : Each day you may select from a wide choice of guided activities including sea otter viewing, fishing, hiking, bear viewing, and photography. The style of the lodge is flexible, and you are encouraged to 'plan your own day'. The guides will help tailor your activities to ensure you get the very best from your vacation. Weather plays an important part of life here, and schedules are flexible to work around the natural elements. You will have one fly-out adventure to select from which may include bear viewing flights to Frazer Lake or a remote fishing stream on Kodiak Island.  Fishing is excellent, and with an expert guide you can catch a variety of species in both fresh and salt water. Final Day: After breakfast depart by seaplane to the Kodiak airport, and connect with scheduled flight to Anchorage.

Scheduled roundtrip flight from Anchorage to Kodiak, seaplane flights from Kodiak to/from Zachar Bay, accommodations and all meals. Services of guides and activities, including fishing. One bear viewing or fishing flight tour.

Not Included: Gratuities, alcoholic beverages, fishing licenses and king salmon stamps.

Anytime after our written confirmation:  50% of invoice total.

60 to 0 days prior to lodge stay date: 100% of invoice total.

Payments for the lodge portion of the tour can be applied to a future trip; however, this does not include airfare to Kodiak Island if used.

 

Clothing: Good rain gear and warm clothes are a must, even in the summer.

 

Fishing: Fishing for salmon and halibut is optional and license is not included. The lodge provides fishing equipment, packaging and cleaning of your catch.
