  Hiking in Alaska's Arctic
Tour 192

Northern Alaska offers some of the best hiking found anywhere. The dramatic scenery and sense of freedom combine to provide enormous scope for planning your own hiking expeditions. With almost unlimited potential, the region offers a range of backpacking opportunities. From the spectacular Arrigetch Peaks, alpine hikes from Folly Lake to the headwaters of the major rivers; this is exciting and challenging country. Good logistical support is critical, and the most practical access to the region is by bush plane from Bettles. The places and prices listed in this section are a guideline as to what is available. Prices from Bettles are approximate and depend on the number in your group, gross weight and destinations. Also type and number of aircraft required will be reflected in the final pricing. From Fairbanks we arrange a scheduled or charter flight to the staging point of Bettles, and from here you fly by bush plane to your hiking destination. For the return, we arrange the pick up point and date. Our team of logistical experts can provide accurate prices and further information if you e-mail us with full details of your proposed expedition.   The price can vary depending on the number of persons in the party.
