Day 2 (Saturday): Anchorage to Valdez (304mi/487km/8hr) After breakfast, board a deluxe motorcoach for today’s travel through the Matanuska Valley to Valdez on one of Alaska's Scenic Byways. Tonight, enjoy a welcome dinner. Overnight Valdez. (BB, D) Day 3 (Sunday): Valdez/Prince William Sound Cruise Enjoy a continental breakfast at the hotel, before departing on a cruise through majestic Prince William Sound. The cruise will take you to the three-mile face of the mighty Columbia Glacier. Along the way, you may see seals, sea lions, otters, dolphins and puffins. A deli-style lunch is included. Overnight Valdez. (CB,L) Day 4 (Monday): Valdez to Fairbanks (368mi/589km/10hr) Continental breakfast at the hotel. The journey continues north today to Fairbanks on the Richardson Highway, the oldest and arguably most scenic of all Alaskan routes. The route travels past Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, the largest park in the U.S. and the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline, which runs 800 miles from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez. Overnight Fairbanks. (CB) Day 5 (Tuesday): Fairbanks Sightseeing Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of the gold mining town of Fairbanks and a stop at the University of Alaska museum. After the city tour, depart on a Chena River cruise aboard a classic sternwheeler. Optional dinner this evening at the famous salmon bake at Pioneer Park. Overnight Fairbanks. (B) Day 6 (Wednesday): Fairbanks to Denali National Park Entrance (121mi/194km/2hr) Breakfast at the hotel. Today, travel by motorcoach south along the Parks Highway to Denali National Park. This afternoon is free for optional activities, such as rafting, flight seeing, helicopter tours, hiking, Park Service programs or the Denali Dinner Theatre (additional cost). Overnight Denali. (BB) Day 7 (Thursday): Denali National Park Breakfast at the hotel. The morning is free for optional activities. This afternoon, travel deep into Denali National Park on the Tundra Wilderness Tour and search the pristine wilderness for bear, moose, caribou, and sheep. This tour is approximately eight hours and includes a 'snack box' style dinner and hot beverages. Overnight Denali. (BB, SD) Day 8 (Friday): Denali National Park to Anchorage Breakfast at the hotel. The morning is free for optional activities. This afternoon, travel aboard the classic Alaska Railroad from Denali to Anchorage. On arrival at the Anchorage rail depot, transfer is provided to the hotel. Overnight Anchorage. (BB) Day 9 (Saturday): Anchorage Sightseeing Breakfast at the hotel. Depart on a sightseeing tour of Anchorage including a visit to the Alaska Native Heritage Center. The rest of the day is open to explore the area. This evening, enjoy dinner at the Sourdough Mining Company, a unique gold rush era themed restaurant. Overnight Anchorage.
