BARROW EXPEDITION

This small group day excursion takes you from
Fairbanks to Barrow on a scenic small aircraft
flight. A local guide will take you on a sightseeing
tour of the village, where you will discover
firsthand the lifestyles of Alaska's Arctic Coastal
peoples. You will walk the shores of the Arctic
Ocean near the northernmost point on the North

GATES OF THE ARCTIC NAT PARK & NUNAMIUT ESKIMO
VILLAGE AT ANAKTUVUK PASS

Ancient mountains,
arctic tundra, and Eskimo culture make this a truly
memorable Arctic Journey! Your 1.5 hour flight takes
into the Brooks Range, an area of glacially carved
mountains that rise to 6400 feet. You will land
within the Gates of the Arctic National Park at
Anaktuvuk Pass, nearly 100 miles north of the Arctic
Circle. The Pass is a major migration route for
caribou and home to bears, wolves, moose, Dall
sheep, wolverines, and fox.
In the village, you will
learn of the Nunamiut (inland Eskimo) way of life
and how they blend modern ways with traditional
life. After lunch, experience how they travel, hunt,
and use the land by exploring subsistence hunting
trails with your guide on an 8-wheel all-terrain
vehicle. A visit will also be made to the National
Park ranger station. Fly back to Fairbanks in the

EL DORADO GOLD MINE

two-hour guided tour takes you through a permafrost
tunnel where Alaska's history comes alive. Meet and

gold mining, grab your own "poke" filled with pay
dirt right out of a sluice box and pan for gold.

FAIRBANKS GOLD DISCOVERY TOUR

Fairbanks owes its founding to the discovery of gold.
During this 4-hour fully narrated bus tour your driver/guide
will bring those early days to life through stories of the
local history. On this tour, you will stop at Gold Dredge
No. 8, the historic structure that dug the river bedrock of
Goldstream and Engineer Creeks for Alaskan miners right up
until 1959. While here, you'll enjoy a hearty miner’s lunch.
Continue on to El Dorado Gold Mine for a tour and chance to
pan for gold. You are guaranteed to find gold! The tour will
also visit a portion of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, an
800-mile engineering miracle that carries Alaskan crude from
