Tour Overview

This day tour from Haines, Alaska begins with a beautiful 30 mile drive up the Chilkat Valley to the Bald Eagle Preserve. After a riverside picnic, you will board a safe 18 foot inflatable raft for your peaceful rafting float trip (no whitewater) on the Chilkat River. The area boasts the world’s largest concentration of Bald Eagles, which can be seen perched in the trees and stumps along the shoreline. Above all this beauty, the spectacular peaks of the Chilkat Mountains loom high into the sky. Icy blue glaciers tumble from the lofty heights, carving away the mountains, grinding the rock into dust. This Alaska day trip ends near Klukwan where the bus will meet you for the return to Haines.
