Winterlake Lodge is situated in a wilderness setting south of Denali National Park, northwest of Anchorage. Located on the National Historic Iditarod Trail, the lodge is in a fantastic location for an Alaska wilderness vacation with this area home to many species of Alaska birds, wildflowers, and berries that are rarely seen in other locales. With its remote setting, wellness program, cooking classes, and wine tasting, Winterlake Lodge offers a unique Alaska luxury lodge experience. The lodge offers relaxing seclusion and spectacular scenery including views of the Trimble and Hayes Glacier and the entrance to Rainy Pass.

Guided activities at Winterlake Lodge include hiking, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, bird watching, and of course dog mushing in the winter time. Tour Itinerary

The main lodge offers a comfortable main room for relaxing by the fire and viewing the lake from large picture windows. There is a cozy dining area and large kitchen for the preparation of the lodge's signature gourmet cuisine. Facilities also include a large meditation yoga room, hot tub on the main deck, and a wood-burning sauna.

Anchorage to Winterlake Lodge

Depart Lake Hood in Anchorage in the morning for a scenic 1-hour flight by float plane. Your lodge hosts will meet you on arrival. After an orientation at the lodge you can plan your daily activities. A daily activity sheet is posted in each cabin and a daily menu of meals is posted in the main lodge. Daily activities may include a cooking class; an interesting half-hour narrated walk with your guide; a tour of the lake by canoe; kayaking; mountain biking and berry picking. The main lodge also has a library for a day of quiet relaxation as well as yoga classes, a staff masseuse and outdoor hot spa. Overnight at Winterlake Lodge.

Winterlake Lodge

Activities today may include hiking, exploring from the lodge, or helicopter based excursions. Possible excursions requiring a helicopter are: heli-hiking, wilderness fishing, river rafting, glacier sightseeing and possibly dog sledding on a glacier dependent on glacier and snow conditions. Certain excursions are available half day, so guests can enjoy two different activities requiring a helicopter lift on the same day. Overnight at Winterlake Lodge.

Winterlake Lodge to Anchorage

After breakfast you depart on the scenic flight back to Anchorage. Tour ends on arrival in Anchorage.

The rates are based on 24-hour periods. Please note that arrival and departures are in the morning only. Please plan a night in Anchorage before and after this lodge stay.
