Tour Overview

Grant Pearson’s rustic log cabin still stands on the five acres where North Face Lodge was built in 1973. North Face Lodge (and Camp Denali) are the only lodges in Denali National Park with a view of Denali and the Alaska Range. Situated on a tundra meadow in the Moose Creek Valley, the North Face Lodge boasts fine views of the crests of Denali (formerly Mount McKinley) and six other major peaks of the Alaska Range.

These two family owned and operated Alaska lodges are located just 29 air miles from Denali’s summit. Both lodges offer numerous summer activities, such as guided hikes, mountain biking, canoeing, and fishing. Each lodge has a comprehensive library and an experienced staff of Alaska naturalists to lead guided hikes to remote alpine valleys, providing the opportunity to see Denali’s wildlife and stunning scenery.

Enjoy an early breakfast before departing on your bus tour back to the park entrance. Fewer stops are made on the return trip, so you will arrive back at the park entrance and Denali train station by 11:45am. This leaves plenty of time to catch the train or bus to Anchorage or Fairbanks.

Alcohol: North Face Lodge does not hold a liquor license. Guests are welcome to bring their own alcohol. Electricity: North Face Lodge generates its own electricity. Do not plan to send or receive faxes or email messages while at the lodge. Mail is picked up on Mondays and Fridays.
