Tour Overview

Bettles Lodge is a remote and beautiful Alaska wilderness lodge, rustic in style yet modern in terms of its facility, built originally in 1948 and located 35 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Bettles Lodge is easily reached from Fairbanks and is proximate to the Brooks Mountain Range, Gates of the Arctic National Park & Preserve, Noatak National Preserve, and Kobuk Valley National Park. The lodge has been renovated to provide guests fully modern amenities and a base to explore Alaska’s Arctic. In the lodge common area, relax after a day of winter outdoor activities, converse with other guests about the day’s activities or visit the second floor game room, complete with a billiard table. At Bettles Lodge you will find a relaxing setting and access to the vast Alaska wilderness surrounding you!

Tour Itinerary

The flight times to/from Bettles Lodge will be determined closer to departure but typically depart in the morning. Pre and post nights in Fairbanks are strongly recommended.

1

Fairbanks to Bettles

Today enjoy a scenic flight from Fairbanks, crossing the mighty Yukon River and the Arctic Circle, with possible views of the Brooks Range and Gates of the Arctic National Park. Beginning with lunch today, all meals are included at Bettles Lodge. This afternoon enjoy a 1-2 hour guided tour of the Bettles area, including the Inupiaq Eskimo village of Evansville. After dinner, step outside and enjoy the Northern Lights or watch from the Aurora viewing cabin. Overnight at Bettles Lodge.

Day
2

Bettles

Day at leisure to explore your tranquil surroundings by snowshoe or cross-country ski. You will also have time to participate in optional activities, such as taking an exhilarating ride on a snowmobile, or touring the Arctic by dog sled. If needed, warm clothing is available at the lodge. Stay up tonight for another opportunity to see the Northern Lights dance across the dark sky. Overnight at Bettles Lodge.

3

Bettles to Fairbanks

Breakfast is your last included meal at the lodge. Return to Fairbanks by small plane. Tour concludes upon your arrival in Fairbanks.

Jacuzzi Rooms are located in a separate building, the Aurora Lodge. Rooms have private bathrooms with a Jacuzzi.

Cancellation Policy:

Any time after our written confirmation: $150 per person or 10% cancellation fee, whichever is greater
60 to 45 days prior to lodge stay date: 30% cancellation fee
44 to 31 days prior to lodge stay date: 60% cancellation fee
30 to 0 days prior to lodge stay date: 100% cancellation fee
