This morning, take a 3-hour scenic ride aboard a comfortable motorcoach to Fairbanks. In the afternoon, tour the Gold Dredge Number 8 to experience Fairbanks's gold rush for yourselves. The adventure begins with a ride on a replica of the Tanana Valley Railroad through the gold fields of Interior Alaska. Before you board the train, enjoy a close up view of the Trans-Alaska pipeline and informational displays about the pipeline. The train ride takes you to the dredge, where you will see firsthand how the dredge worked the gold fields. Once the train arrives at the camp, you will receive a brief but informative course in mining, and then you will try gold panning for yourself. Keep what you find - gold is guaranteed! Overnight in Fairbanks.

Day

A transfer is provided to the airport for your 1-hour flight to Dawson City. The turbo-prop plane will give you a great aerial view of the vast wilderness below. The reminder of the day is free to explore the small, historic town of Dawson City. Overnight in Dawson City.

Day
6

Dawson City

Today, enjoy a 1-hour riverboat cruise aboard the Klondike Spirit to view cultural and historic sights on the famed Yukon River. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure exploring the Klondike goldfields and enjoying the old Gold Rush atmosphere of Dawson City. Travel by coach and train to Skagway today. You will be driven to Fraser, where you will board the historic White Pass Yukon Railroad, which is a narrow-gauge railroad built in 1898 during the Gold Rush to transport miners. Sit back and enjoy the alpine scenery and amazing views. Skagway itself is located in Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. After arriving at 12 noon, you will have some time for shopping and optional tours, such as a helicopter flight or riding a dog sled (see Tour Add-Ons). This evening, say goodbye to your Journey Host and board your deluxe Holland America cruise ship. Tonight, set sail at approximately 9:00pm. All of your meals are included onboard.

Day
10

Cruising - Ketchikan

Located on Revillagigedo Island, Ketchikan is known as Alaska's Native Cultural Center and Sport fishing Capital. Native art and culture flourish here due to the large population of Native Alaskans, represented by the three indigenous tribes: the Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian. The city is also home to the largest collection of totem poles in the world. Spend your time in port shopping, touring Misty Fjord National Monument, paddling in a traditional native canoe, or touring the backcountry by jeep (see Tour Add-Ons).
